When most people search for a new slots game, the money on offer is a major part of their decision. People want to know they can win decent jackpots, and get a healthy return on their spend before deciding to play for real money.
Some games keep their riches well hidden. Others, like Cash Splash, prefer to put them immediately and obviously on display.
Cash Splash is a progressive slot, and comes in both a 3-reel and 5-reel version. The game isn’t themed as such, so you won’t find any of the usual graphical features or linked soundtracks.
Instead, this game is more reminiscent of those classic fruit machines you’d find in the pub or in an arcade – except in this case, you can win thousands and more.
You’ll find cherries, BAR symbols, lucky number 7s, and other symbols you immediately associate with these retro machines. In an era when virtually all slots have some weird theme or idea underpinning them, it’s sometimes refreshing to go back to basics.
On the 3-reel version, you’re playing across a single payline – similar to the physical AWP-style machines of this type. On the 5-reel version, that’s bumped up to 15 paylines, so there are many more opportunities to win from each spin.
With the maximum bet at only 3 coins per spin, it’s important to use your credits wisely – but with the in-game jackpot standing at 300x, plus the progressive jackpot, there’s still plenty of scope for seriously big wins.
Cash Splash has long been a personal favourite, and I enjoy giving this a spin when I’m chasing bigger wins, or just looking for a break from the heavily-themed video slots that have become so popular. If you decide to give this game a spin, there are a number of features you should look out for along the way.
Cash Splash Symbols: Wet & Wild Winnings
The Cash Splash logo symbol is the first one you want to watch out for. This is the wild symbol, and when it appears on a payline, it will switch out for whatever you are missing. This has the effect of completing your payline, so you’re still a winner – even if you get caught one symbol short.
The only exception to the rule is the scatter symbol – it won’t replace a missing scatter, but anything else can be taken care of by a wild in the right place. Line up five wilds on the 15th payline, and you’ll walk away a happy chappy with the game’s jackpot in your pocket.
The symbol with ‘Scatter’ emblazoned across it is, you’ve guessed it, the scatter symbol, and lining up three or more of these on your reels will entitle you to a scatter payout of up to 250 coins. It also acts as a multiplier, with scatter wins multiplied by the stake you’ve played on that particular spin.
Usually this would also trigger a bonus game, but because there’s no bonus round as such in Cash Splash, you’ll just have to make do with the extra winnings.
Aside from these symbols, the biggest win you can get your hands on in a single spin is 800 coins, which comes from lining up 5 of the money stack symbols across a payline, followed by 500 coins for lining up 5 of the lucky number 7 symbols.
Make A Splash With Bets & Jackpots
The minimum coins per line is 1 coin, ranging up to 3 coins per line. Coins are set at a maximum of 1 unit, depending on the specific currency you are playing. That means you can win 300 coins on a single spin at the lowest end of the bet range, up to 900 coins when you’re playing 3 coins per spin.
The RTP is set at 91.47%, slightly on the low side compared to certain other high paying slots games, but not enough to put me off playing Cash Splash every now and again.
The in-game jackpot is 300x, which for many will feel like a pathetic amount. But it’s worth remembering that there is also the progressive prize fund, which consistently grows in value until it is won. This alone contributes to making Cash Splash a must-play game, even if it doesn’t become your new favourite.
Cash Splash Verdict
I like Cash Splash, and not just because of the progressive prize. Sometimes you just want to play a straightforward game without the usual pomp and ceremony. When I’m looking for a fruit fix, I’m always inclined to give Cash Splash a whirl.
Of course, it’s not for everyone, and I do understand why some players feel it’s a little on the boring side. If you were playing this all day, I’m sure you’d quickly find yourself getting tired of the same, limited action.
But for me, there’s enough here on the money side to keep me coming back for more. Plus I’m a sucker for anything from Microgaming, so it was always going to feature highly in my estimations.
I’d recommend you check out Cash Splash to see if it’s a slot that could do good things for you. Whether it’s for the retro entertainment value, or you’re feeling lucky for an old-style fruit machine, Cash Splash has everything you need.
